THE FIRST COMMANDMENT FOR LITTLE CHILDREN
The First Commandment IS:
“Thou shalt have no other gods before me.”
The First Commandment MEANS . . .
“. . . that our heavenly Father-Mother God wants us to love and obey Him above all others. Why? Because God created you and everyone and every real thing. He is present everywhere and is all-powerful. God is good, and we can obey the First Commandment by being good, expecting good, and loving the goodness we see all around us and in others. We should not listen to bad thoughts, speak bad words, or behave badly. We obey His laws. We put God, good, FIRST in our hearts.
The First Commandment HELPS US . . .
“. . . to turn to God in times of need. We are taught that God does not make His children sick or bad or sad. If you pray to God, rather than turning away from Him, you will begin to see that God has already made you perfect! He loves His children, and YOU are one of them. If you listen to stories about Jesus and his disciples in the Bible, you will learn about the wonderful healings they performed by knowing that God is our Father and Creator, and that there is no other power apart from God.
